Rethinking immersion, and incorporating storytelling like never before, the concept of Scare Zones was developed to aid in centralizing Scareactors, lessen safety issues, and improve the overall atmosphere of the event. 1994 was the first Halloween Horror Nights™ event to incorporate Scare Zones, making Horrorwood (1994) the first-ever Halloween Horror Nights™ Scare Zone.
For the first time ever, Scare Zones allowed for theming of areas outside of the event’s Haunted Houses, creating “streets” that belong in their own separate realm of terror. After three consecutive years, 1994 would be the last appearance of Robosaurus for over twelve years. 1994 was the first Horror Nights™ to make mention of and use the term “Scareactors”, in reference to the actors/performers used at the event.
