A New Era of Darkness

Love him or hate him, Fear finally reared his ugly face at Halloween Horror Nights 20 as the hidden ringleader of past years. This overlaying storyline connected the dots between icons, showing that each Icon actually represented a type (or symptom) of FEAR. This year also had (in our opinion) one of the best, and most challenging, interactive websites where you could play Fear's games in "The Warehouse".

Event Facts

  • This was the first Halloween Horror Nights™ event where the Event Icon wasn’t necessarily a character, but was rather a marketing focus. Many guests didn’t understand the Fear icon as he represented the terror the icons and event brought as a whole.
  • Many of the Haunted Houses had an icon of the past hidden within.
  • This year had a viral marketing campaign of a Universal Orlando Security Officer checking the “Prop Warehouse” before meeting his fate with Fear himself.
  • This marked the first partnership of the Art & Design team working with Winter Park interactive team X Studios.
  • The “Warehouse Experience” online allowed guests to ‘explore the warehouse’ in interactive challenges inspired by CHAOS, DEATH, SACRIFICE, LEGEND and VENGANCE.
  • All “tests” would correspond with an icon.

GREAT event! loved being filled in on the past! Second year i attended. Missed 2009 due to my youngest son being born. Thought from my 2008 experience i could make the event work without express, the GP said NO to that. bought a second night with express because one run through each house was not enough!
