Riding high off its newfound prestige, Howl-O-Scream replaced half of its haunted houses from 2003. Escape from Insanity was overhauled again to provide an end to its ongoing story. In contrast to previous years, the event was themed away from its African backdrop, turning the park into a nightmare metropolis kept populated by a Charon-esque taxi driver. The marketing was overshadowed, however, by an especially harsh storm season. Hurricane Jeanne dropped a tornado on the Corporate Nightmare house, completely destroying the building. Two of the veteran scare zones - Garden of the Cursed and Agony Express - also took damage. Though the house was hastily reconstructed and the zones repaired, this delayed Howl-O-Scream for the first and only time into early October.
