In one of its strangest storylines, riffing on its occasional music theme, Howl-O-Scream dedicated the entire event to a catchy jingle. So catchy, it drives anyone who hears it insane. Broken TVs and axed-up radios littered the park with scrawled warnings not to listen. Those unfortunate enough to hear it became “The Cursed.” Though only two new houses were added this year, Zombie Containment Unit served as the next big step in Howl-O-Scream technology, arming guests with rifles to fend off the undead personally. Once again, fans could vote on design choices for one of the houses, this year Dead Fall. It would be long-time creative director Scott Swenson’s last year at the reins.
